Blaze is still rather chubby, a testament to his newness to the greenhorn rank, and as such he's having a little trouble keeping up with the necessary exertions of hunting and patrolling. In short time this will fade, his muscles will harden and he'll find stamina as the moons pass. In stature, he's rather average; he's not the biggest pup in his litter even though he's the oldest, but neither is he the smallest. A sturdy frame, of medium height and average weight- he is what he is, and he's content not to complain because he doesn't stand out.

His fur is of medium length, with a black base as with most Sacredwood wolves. The patches of gray that gave him his name streak and dot across his body, from his ruff to the tip of his tail; the fur is not too thick, not so heavy. Average, just like he is. His eyes are pale golden, often shining with enthusiasm and friendliness, the brightest thing about his appearance.

Full to the brim with youthful energy, Blaze quite possibly has made a nuisance of himself many times over. From his incessant questions about the things a patrol of guardians has seen or done on patrol, from making an unnecessary amount of noise in the middle of the day while playing with his brothers- respect and consideration for other wolves is something he'll have to learn.

Friendly to a fault, it will also take time for Blaze to grasp that only those from his Kingdom can be considered friends; all others are enemies. He's heard this, of course, and he'll probably be just a touch wary, but really understanding what it means to be at constant war with the wolves of Astralridge and Riverbloom is something that will take time to comprehend. With his brothers, and the rest of his pack, there's no such hint of wariness; he will say and do whatever comes to mind, unhesitating in his warmth toward his pack and kin.

In learning, Blaze will be quite the keen student- and a bit of a problem. Restraint has never been one of his strong points, and he's all too likely to rush headlong into a problem that might get him hurt. Not intentionally, simply because his feet move faster than his head, and he's never had to stop and think about how to handle a problem; instant action has always been his style, and he doesn't grasp that that won't do him any good when the problem is an animal- prey or predator- that won't hesitate to attack.

Perhaps he'll never lose that enthusiasm, but only time will tell if he'll be able to curb it as he takes steps toward becoming a guardian.

Blaze is the oldest of four male pups- a litter destined to run their poor mother into the ground. She had a single moon of fairly easy care, when they were too little to do anything but nurse and sleep, but that period of innocent helplessness did not last long. By their second moon even the smallest had begun to find his balance, shaky though it was, and their explorations began.

By their third moon, it was impossible to contain them. All four spilled out of the den at the first light of each day, usually with Blaze leading the charge, and proceeded to get under the paws of every wolf until night fell again. There were attempts to sneak out into the woods, to explore further than the boundaries of the sanctuary, but none were successful- the older wolves knew too well the ways of the younger.

Relentless play, and the badgering of the guardians for what they'd done or seen or fought or hunted was what occupied Blaze and his brothers, never quite realizing how annoying the flood of questions was until some wolf growled at them to go find something else to do. Which usually turned out to be a game- there were no ending to the games they could play. Play-hunting, play-fighting, chasing and pouncing and wearing themselves out to the point that it was often a struggle at the end of the day to drag themselves into the nursery to sleep.

A freshly-made greenhorn, Blaze is definitely looking forward to all the things he'll be learning, all too eager to leave the sanctuary every day at the heels of his mentor and watch and mimic her- and getting ahead of himself far too often.
