Welcome to the first-ever Spring Festival on A Falling Star! We are hosting a multitude of events over the course of the next month to finish off Spring and bring us into Summer. Contests, drawings, races, you name it - we’ve got it! We are starting off the event with the introduction of our first ever site-wide plot - Omen in the Sky. Each of the Kingdom’s Corvidae have been given a message from the Kingdom of Stars - the Kingdoms must bring about peace or face certain doom, but the War has been raging for generations. Will the Corvidae be able to talk sense into their Alphas, or will the Kingdoms have to face the doom that the Stars predict alone. We can’t wait to find out! Below is a list of just a few of the bonuses and events that we will be having over the course of the next month.
First to WIN or LOSE a spar using our dice-rolling system will receive a prize!
Character Acceptance Bonus - Be entered in a drawing to win a FREE companion!
Run for High Ranks and get free bones!
&& more!
We are a fantasy wolf roleplay centered around three warring Kingdoms and the wolves that call them home. The wolf's ancestors; the Kingdom of Stars, are directly linked to the living wolves. They give Alphas the strength to lead for moons past what would have been their prime, and the Corvidae the ability to heal their fellow packmates through prayer. We are semi-literate, only requiring 150 words per post at a minimum! Please check out our Laws of the Land board for more information, and join us on DISCORD to get to know us better!
3.25.2019 UPDATE HERE! It's officially been a week since opening! We have added a Pup Prediction System, a Fighting System, as well as a huge update to our Shop! Congratulations to Rosa on Global Moderator, and Tali on Pup Predictor!
3.17.2019 A Falling Star has officially open! We are now accepting applications for all higher ranks, as well as applications for staff! Thank you for joining us!
3.15.2019 - The flowers are blooming, and the prey is running plentiful. Afternoon showers are a frequent occurance across the land, and many newborns are being welcomed into the world after a particularly harsh winter. Major storms seem to be holding back until the Summer, yet the river still runs swiftly.

3.22.2019 - The Corvidae for the Kingdom of Astralridge passed away without a Greenhorn to take his place. How will they cope?

accepting applications
We are now accepting high rank applications! Please keep in mind the separate rules that you are required to follow when you gain a high rank. Please keep in mind that each pack has a different way of selecting their higher ranks. Sacredwood relies on the Kingdom of Stars to appoint their higher ranks. Riverbloom chooses who is best fit to lead on their own. Astralridge passes down their ranks through their lineage. Corvidae are all chosen by the Kingdom of Stars. We are currently accepting applications for the following:
KINGDOM OF SACREDWOOD: ― Alpha - TAKEN BY Split with Campion ― Beta ― Corvidae - TAKEN BY Kon with Ibis
KINGDOM OF RIVERBLOOM: ― Alpha - TAKEN BY Rosa with Rush ― Beta - TAKEN BY box with Dianthus ― Corvidae - TAKEN BY Taxx with Heron
KINGDOM OF ASTRALRIDGE: ― Alpha - TAKEN BY Elaedria with Orchid ― Beta ― Corvidae - TAKEN BY Tali with Lark

The Alphas for the Kingdom of Riverbloom and the Kingdom of Astralridge have been taken.
Please continue to apply for the remaining high available high ranks!
Username: tali Length of time on site: about 20+ hours Character: Lark Wanted Position: Astralridge Corvidae Years of Experience RPing: Around 7 or 8 Why you?: I have a lot of experience not only staffing, but playing high ranks of many varieties, from all warrior cats high ranks, to royalty, and even alphas. I have played several warriors medicine cats, as well as a humanoid court healer - both of which were similar to this position. I'm always happy to be involved in any plots and partake in overall kingdom activity, and I enjoy being not only a friendly part of the community, but getting the opportunity to rp with many different people, which this role certainly allows. Any Extra Relevant Info: She would become Corvidae IC when she goes to visit the Raven Tree again and finds an injured Astralridge guardian instead
Roleplay Sample: Above, the light of the sky flickered and surged strangely, filtering far too brightly through the transparent unknown above. All around the slender body was cold, but it wasn't registered nearly as much as the tiredness that dragged at trembling muscles and flailing paws, or the fear that pierced her heart. What was happening? Where was she? Why would the stars allow this...Part of the small creature wanted to close her eyes, to block out the blinding light that shone through what she knew was water, even if she couldn't fully register this fact through her panic. However, she didn't want to risk closing her eyes, shutting out the world - she knew it might not come back to her again if she did. So, with determination she never thought she'd known before, golden paws and aching muscles worked to strike again at the water, as though she could claw it into submission.
Her lungs burned. Her eyes stung. She could hear the currents that beat her, muffled in her ears. Then, with a sharp pain that echoed through her head, the world around her went black, and she was surrendered in full to the current. This wasn't how she was meant to go. This wasn't supposed to be the end. It couldn't be. Could it?
It felt like years, or maybe even only seconds, but her golden amber eyes would slowly blink open again, dazzled yet again by blinding light she hadn't expected. She could feel something at her neck, and she wanted it gone, but she didn't know how to shake it off when she was so tired. Distantly, she realized she was moving, but not upon her own four paws. The stones beneath her tugged at her and rolled as she was drawn across them, until she felt soft grass beneath her. The smell of it wafted across her on a warm breeze she hadn't expected to feel, along with another scent, one she didn't know. Curious, or perhaps wanting to see her fate before she faced the end, she blinked her eyes open once more to gaze upon furry paws. Her eyes lifted slowly, following up thin legs and a scrawny grey and white pelt to settle upon the end of a muzzle, soon lowering to reveal a face.
"So you're awake, then." The voice felt strange to her ears, unnatural after all she could ever remember hearing was the muffled sounds of water, or the roar of it against rocks whenever her head had broken the turbulent surface. It sounded loud, too loud. Then she realized everything was louder. Where was she? Confused, she wearily raised her head, only to spasm slightly as the remains of her watery torment left her mouth, followed by heaving, wheezing coughs. She hadn't noticed she was shivering until now, but now she was realizing she hadn't noticed a lot of things. Before her was a being she didn't know, a wolf like her - she recalled that much. And nearby was a black bird perched upon a rock, watching her intently. As she tried to move, the bird launched toward her in a flurry of feathered wings, and with a startled yelp she scrambled away, finding strength where she thought she'd had none.
Who was this strange wolf, with their crazy attacking bird? What did they want with her?
Her questions of confusion soon, however, drifted to tired thoughts of indifference. What did it matter? She was tired, she needed to rest. The stars awaited her, didn't they? Why was that....what did stars want with her? Lying back on the grass, the trembling she-wolf rested her head heavily on her paws, watching the others warily, but finding herself too tired to try and chase them away. Surely if they wanted to hurt her they would have. What could be worse than that river? Maybe they'd saved her - maybe she was still alive and they were why. Not that she was sure why she shouldn't be alive. Yet that didn't matter, either. Only one question on her mind held utmost importance.
'Who am I?' With that thought on her mind, she let the world drift away once more.
Username: Taxx Length of time on site: Two days Character: Heron Wanted Position: Riverbloom Corvidae Years of Experience RPing: uhhh since middle school- twenty-ish? Why you?: I love playing healer characters; I'm active, and i think i could fit into the role well Any Extra Relevant Info: None Roleplay Sample: Heron glanced up at Guile flying overhead, a white speck nearly out of sight against the blue sky, and then down again at the aloe plant he was biting stems from. He had spent the entire morning gathering herbs, and he was nearly ready to finish and head back- he was hungry and looking forward to a nice meal and, if he was lucky, a nap in the sun. Dropping another spiky stalk, Heron licked his jaws in a vain effort to rid himself of the taste; he glanced down at the pile and then gingerly nosed them out of the sun. They would keep for a short time while he got a drink and found a leaf to wrap them in so he didn't have to carry them in his jaws.
He nearly missed the speck of white among the grass, but it was the scent that pulled him back, made him freeze in surprise; he hadn't caught that smell in moons, had thought he never would again. He turned back, hesitated only a moment at the border, and then stood above the wolf stretched out on her side, silvered fur turned red with blood, her breath shallow- but her gaze as steady as ever. "Brother," the she-wolf greeted, and Heron shook himself abruptly out of his shock, knowing that every moment he did nothing was another moment his sister slipped away from him. He could get in trouble for this, he knew- but the alternative was unthinkable. He couldn't just walk away and let her die...
We absolutely adore Heron and his intriguing story, and look forward to seeing what happens in the future with him as part of our ranks! Awesome work, Taxx!
The Corvidae for the Kingdom of Riverbloom has been taken.
Please continue to apply for the remaining high available high ranks!
Username: Box Length of time on site: 2 days? Character: Dianthus Wanted Position: Riverbloom Beta Years of Experience RPing: 7-8 ish Why you?: I really enjoy playing high ranking characters. I love to drive the plot of the site, and let people interact with a high rank that lets them do things and is also active Any Extra Relevant Info: Roleplay Sample:
"Ma'am...we need to take him." Dianthus didnt move, her face buried in the golden fur of the wolf who was her mentor. She felt a presence sit alongside her. The Corvidae, the Guardians taking up positions at the mouth of the den. The healer sat strong and resolute beside her. "He hunts with the Kingdom of the Stars Dianthus. He is no longer among us. It is time to let him leave." The dark woman shook her head. "Just...five more minutes. Please. Let me say goodbye.". The corvidae bowed their nead, stepping away to let her say her last goodbyes into Gladiolus's golden fur. She breathed out softly.
After a time, she took a step away, letting the corvidae take her mentor to be buried. Dianthus stood in the den, staring at where he once was. She could almost hear him chiding her for just standing around. The femme closed her eyes, taking a deep breath in, letting it stirr in her chest, before breathing out. She did this a few more times, soothing her heartbeat. Then, she turned, beginning to walk out of the den. In the morning, she would be Beta Dianthus. For now...she was just Dia, a scared young wolf with more power than she knew what to do with.
In the morning, she would be better. She was sure of it.
Username: Kon Length of time on site: About a day Character: Ibis Wanted Position: Sacredwood Corvidae Years of Experience RPing: Just about 13-14 years Why you?: I have quite a bit of experience rping in general with a pretty big mixture of playing characters that range from rebel leaders to the heavily devout. In terms of animal rps, I've played religious figures, deputies, and co-leaders along with the normal members. I love throwing myself into plots of all kinds, peaceful and chaotic; with all the juicy tidbits that cause all that delicious rp drama we love. Any Extra Relevant Info: I do technically have some staff experience but I haven't been staff since before pb's version 4 update. Roleplay Sample: The darkness was warm, comforting with a dreamless night to leave him be. Alone he had curled into a ball, tickling himself awake with his own whiskers when the first sign on birdsong had broken throughout the trees outside, a prelude to the soft pattering of a morning rain that thickened the air with its scent. It mingled and mixed with the crushed berries and bruised herbs, the fresh scent of the forests' bounties were as much at home to him as the thick scent of other wolves. Even in his half woken state he could catch the sound of soft paws making their way to their morning duties, others switching with those who'd chosen the night guard.
It was at that moment that he decided it was going to be a slow morning. That sounded like a great idea. Much more relaxing than forcing himself awake, suffer pecks from a certain someone using his head as a nest, and having to deal with the hassle of inventory and social obligations. Just- just a few more minutes, till the birds quieted down. That sounded good.
It might have worked if he hadn't tried to shove himself into a deeper curl, disturbing the Raven who'd settled on him like a royal born princess. All dainty and quiet... until he tried to tuck himself into a ball. Bad decision. One swift movement and the bird was rolled off like rainwater on a leaf, tossing the black bird to the ground in an ugly heap of indignity and rage. It didn't take her even a second to start shrieking at him, deftly hopping to her feet to pelt him with pecks and the unflattering bat of her wings. "Oaf! Slug! First thing in the morning and you act like a barbarian!" The raven crowed, finding no self-restraint when it came to pecking him both physically and with words.
The latter being his main source of entertainment since the day the raven began to make actual sense to him. Back then he had endlessly chattered away at her, now he found a companionship in the form of a shared snark. Uncurling himself reluctantly (more forced to if he wanted to avoid that beak in his ears), Ibis lolled his tongue out at her. "First, we have pups named 'slug' so that's not an insult to me-" that earned him another sharp peck. He continued- "Second, it's not my fault you can't be a proper bird in a tre-" Ibis ducked out of the way just in time to avoid the sharp talons that went flapping over his head. Another disgruntled caw and the wolf was sliding toward the entrance of his den, chuckling none too subtly.
Too much for sleeping in, not with an alarm like that. Sad and more than a bit disappointing but he may as well get to going before the drizzle became actual rain. Closer to the exit proved that might just happen, though Firefly did nothing but wish the curse of the clouds on him from her place nipping at his tail. "How pitiful! Suffer under the sky, Ibis; and wish you had your own wings to mock!" she cawed triumphantly as the morning dew hit them first, what light there was already hurting the wolf's eyes.
"Says the Raven-mo-" Again, he dodged another flurry of feathers before earning the black bird's evil eye. His chuckle started up again. Without another word he felt the rush of her wings and then the weight of her smaller body between his shoulders. "Keen for a ride?" A rhetorical question but she sought to benefit him with an answer much more simple. "This is you asking for forgiveness in waking me." Oh it would have been so simple to build more on that, so, so very easy; yet he managed to refrain. He had work to do- focus on that before the storm hit. Giggle like a young pup while you still could Ibis and he did, oh how he did. Not even the Raven's accusing eye or following nips could stop that from brightening his day.
Oh my goodness Ibis and Firefly could not be cuter together if they tried. You are doing a wonderful job displaying the bond between Raven and Corvidae, and we can't wait to see whats in the future for Sacredwood's new Corvidae! Great job Kon !
The Corvidae for the Kingdom of Sacredwood has been taken!
Please continue to apply for the remaining available high ranks!
Years of Experience RPing: I've roleplayed for probably about four years and been doing post by post sites for about two or three now.
Why you?: I have a lot of experience. I've staffed, been a member, and even own an RP. Though two or three years is not a long time by most people's standards, I have seen and done a lot as an RPer. I'm great at creating diverse and interesting characters and plots and I'm very experienced with Campion in particular. I've played her for about two full years now in various incarnations and I know her like the back of my hand. I have experience playing her as a leader, a group member, a loner, a mother, with family and without. I am completely comfortable and confident with her and certain that I can help to foster interesting plots.
Any Extra Relevant Info: I don't think there is any. <3
Roleplay Sample: Campion watched the kingdom members' movements day in and day out. The she-wolf carefully cultivated their strength, pushing and pulling back and forth in an effort to raise the kingdom higher and higher. Their success was her own. Their triumphs were her own. If they should falter, it was due to her own mismanagement, and Campion did not enjoy the taste of defeat. She took a keen interest in all aspects of kingdom life, from the birth of pups to the tales of the boneweavers, and soon the sanctuary would be awakening. It was yet early, the sun yet to rise, but that was when Campion always started her mornings. First to wake, last to sleep, she set an example for her subordinates.
The alpha sat outside her den, breathing in the early morning air, her expression solemn as she considered her plans for the day. She plotted out a careful path, intending to check up on not only Ibis and his stores of herbs, but also on the Guardians and the borders. Perhaps if there was time, she would look in on the greenhorns and assess their progress. If not today, tomorrow certainly. The she-wolf slowly stood, padding around the sanctuary all but silently, sniffing into the entrances of dens and laying calculating eyes on the sleeping denizens. It told her many things. Who smelled as if they might be taking ill, who looked to be resting well, who didn't. Some might say she was over-involved, too controlling, but the she-wolf merely saw herself as careful, prepared.
When she had finished her cycling, she returned to her den, disappearing inside until the dawn. Though Campion kept a careful eye on the members of her kingdom, she preferred they did not recognize just how closely she watched. While perhaps they'd notice her scent, it was most certainly better that they not awake to her lording over them like she thought they were up to no good. She lay down, ears perked and listening as she waited for the first sounds of stirring paws.
