Lilac was made for the tough, mountainous range of Astralridge, and it shows in every aspect. Her frame is solid, large paws with toes that spread like snowshoes to keep her from sinking in deep snow, long legs that carry her tirelessly among the steep inclines, and a sturdy body wrapped in a thick coat that both keeps her warm and offers camouflage against the snow- she's well suited to this territory.

Her nearly white fur has only a few splashes of color: black stripes along her shoulders that join and mark her back down to her tail, and a slight silver shading on her brow. Her eyes are a deep shade of amber.

Lilac, first and foremost, is unwaveringly loyal to Astralridge- to their ways, their beliefs, and most of all to her sister, the Pack's alpha. It doesn't matter whether or not she agrees with what Orchid decides; she's the pack's leader and her word is the last word. She'll back Orchid with her last breath and follow her wherever she leads. After all, shouldn't Orchid be able to rely on her, if no one else? How can she claim to be loyal to Astralridge if she questions what its leader says?

Lilac has always been a follower; almost as soon as she was old enough to understand, she knew that Orchid would one day be leader. She understood that mere fate had led to Orchid being born first, instead of it being the other way around, and she accepted without question her sister's birthright. Not for a second has she ever resented Orchid for being the one to claim the honor of leadership; from the first, she threw her support in her sister's corner. An ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, that's what she offers.

To her packmates, Lilac is quiet- not a pushover, but not one to raise her voice and argue a point. She speaks when there's something to say, offers her opinions and views, and she enjoys a good conversation with a friend. But she'll never be the one to snarl at another Astralridge wolf, unless there's good cause.

She judges hard those who betray their pack, and she can carry quite the grudge toward those who have crossed her. Toward traitors, towards the other Kingdoms, she's suddenly a different wolf. Not exactly louder, but much colder and with none of the laid-back nature she usually shows. She'll fight to defend what is Astralridge's, and if her life is ever the cost to protect their home, then so be it.

Orchid and Lilac were born to the former alpha and his mate: Flint and Primrose. As Orchid was born first, it was she who was marked to become the next leader of Astralridge, and she would need Lilac to be there for her, always. This is what Primrose told the younger of her daughters, keen to avoid any possible jealousy between the two, but she hardly needed to bother. Lilac accepted the lineage without question, and in their young moons before becoming greenhorns, she hardly cared who would be leader anyway. She and Orchid played, or visited the boneweavers to hear their stories.

When she reached her sixth moon, Lilac began her instruction as a guardian, taught by a male named Mountain. His quiet, steady nature strengthened her own, and through her moons as a greenhorn, she learned everything her mentor thought important. Hunting and fighting were just two of the subjects he passed on; a depthless, unwavering loyalty to Astralridge and a distinct wariness toward Sacredwood and Riverbloom were others.

She was in her thirteenth moon before she took her test. She passed, no wolf questioning her ability or her right to take her place within the pack, and it was with quiet pride that she was given the ceremony that raised her to the status of guardian. Her sister was right at her side, as she had been during much of their training- absent now and then as their father took her for more private lessons but still learning the things any greenhorn had to know.

They sat their vigil together, though Lilac was quick to notice a difference in Orchid's demeanor, and she questioned it once the sun had risen the following day. She never offered physical retribution for the male hurting her sister with his refusal, but she was certainly colder toward him and rarely interacted with him if she could avoid it. Where Orchid seemed to move past Aspen's denial of her, Lilac could hardly forget it, or forgive him. Nor did she care to. He might be of Astralridge, but he'd still hurt her sister and that wasn't something she could so easily put behind her.

Blackcough swept through the pack that winter; many of the pack fell ill from it, Lilac included. But, being young and fit, she survived- not all were so lucky. Among those who succumbed were Primrose, their mother, and Flint- their father and the pack's Alpha. And suddenly leadership fell to Orchid, with Flint's passing. She was young for it, but Lilac never had doubts. She'd been training for the role her entire life; Orchid would rise to the challenge of leading the pack. It's not been long since then, only a few moons, and spring has come again.
