Welcome to the first-ever Spring Festival on A Falling Star! We are hosting a multitude of events over the course of the next month to finish off Spring and bring us into Summer. Contests, drawings, races, you name it - we’ve got it! We are starting off the event with the introduction of our first ever site-wide plot - Omen in the Sky. Each of the Kingdom’s Corvidae have been given a message from the Kingdom of Stars - the Kingdoms must bring about peace or face certain doom, but the War has been raging for generations. Will the Corvidae be able to talk sense into their Alphas, or will the Kingdoms have to face the doom that the Stars predict alone. We can’t wait to find out! Below is a list of just a few of the bonuses and events that we will be having over the course of the next month.

We are a fantasy wolf roleplay centered around three warring Kingdoms and the wolves that call them home. The wolf's ancestors; the Kingdom of Stars, are directly linked to the living wolves. They give Alphas the strength to lead for moons past what would have been their prime, and the Corvidae the ability to heal their fellow packmates through prayer. We are semi-literate, only requiring 150 words per post at a minimum! Please check out our Laws of the Land board for more information, and join us on DISCORD to get to know us better!
3.25.2019 UPDATE HERE! It's officially been a week since opening! We have added a Pup Prediction System, a Fighting System, as well as a huge update to our Shop! Congratulations to Rosa on Global Moderator, and Tali on Pup Predictor!
3.17.2019 A Falling Star has officially open! We are now accepting applications for all higher ranks, as well as applications for staff! Thank you for joining us!
3.15.2019 - The flowers are blooming, and the prey is running plentiful. Afternoon showers are a frequent occurance across the land, and many newborns are being welcomed into the world after a particularly harsh winter. Major storms seem to be holding back until the Summer, yet the river still runs swiftly.

3.22.2019 - The Corvidae for the Kingdom of Astralridge passed away without a Greenhorn to take his place. How will they cope?
He might be young no longer, but his mind hadn't accepted that.
The aged wolf refused to adjust his position of denial. He simply didn't have need for those ideas. Hadn't given in to the thought that eventually youth fades like the light of the dying sun as it succumbed to the moon, that pelts run ragged and dirty with moons of wear and tear, that paws would stumble instead of fly across the ever steady ground. They were so close, those glory days to come. The ones where basking in the sun, head tilted towards the blazing orb in silent, blind worship, were normal. Where rising too late in the day to go for a hunt was acceptable after countless dawns of tireless service. Those times where resting easy was considered a prize for simply living a life as wild and wondrous as the Kingdom of Star's empire above.
Such rest was never meant for him.
No, he was aged, that was true. He knew the few that the few who remained from his training days, from the times of Greenhorns and a stunning lack of responsibility, had been eying the Boneweaver's den for a number of moons now. They had reached the age in which their senses had begun to dim. Chasing deer in small hunting patrols through their vast, gold and green fields was no longer the easy task it had been seasons ago. Distinguishing the breathing patterns of your fellow Guardian from that of their enemy was no longer a simple task for them, and each battle could end in injury that took moons instead of days to heal. It would be their time to retire, to relax, to live out the little time they had left in the small comforts they could find in their cave. But not him.
Preferably he'd end his life with a snarl, jaws bared and aimed for a throat. He would not simply pass away in peace, growing fat as one of the eldest in the pack. No. No, that was not meant for him. My time is not yet done.
The sun hadn't even begun to rise over the edge of the ragged hills around them when still-sharp golden eyes slowly opened themselves to slits. For a few heartbeats he simply listened; the dull roar of the water as it crashed from the cliffside above, the scraping of small critters unfortunate enough to have wandered into what was surely a death trap filled with hungry jaws, it all reached him far in his cave dwelling. He might be old, but he wasn't deaf. Just as good as I once was. The Alpha thought to himself with a certain earned smugness.
Finally allowing his head to lift, Rush took a deep breath of still cool air before finding the right amount of strength to pull the last of sleep from scarred limbs. The male uncurled from his nest of sweet-smelling moss and feathers, giving his head a rough shake to rustle the fur around his neck. He would need to make use of the ruff as a block against the light, spring wind he could scent as he leisurely made his way to the front of the cave. It didn't matter that he couldn't see much; his paws had walked this damp stone for far too long to need something as basic as vision to navigate them. In fact, he'd been here so long he fancied that some of the grooves, the dips and curves carved by generations of Alpha's, were his own. Pacings back and forth as he considered the ever-present looming threat that the rival packs posed. Quick, sharp turns as he argued with Beta after Beta about food supplies when winter drove hunger from their bellies to their minds, eating away at their bonds in absence of true sustenance. Heavy stomps as the cursed those above for taking yet another wolf from the Riverbloom pack in the form of illness, injury, or simply bad luck. No, he knew this ground, plain as it was. It was his and, if the old Alpha had his way, it would simply stay that way for seasons to come. Just like you, Cliff, may the paws of the stars above cradle you close.
Surly thoughts filled his head as he made his way to the entrance, lifting his head to scent the air again for anything he might've missed before. The camp seemed quiet; no wonder, with dawn still minutes away and the sun tucked away behind crags and peaks. Patrols would be sent out soon. Dianthus, though not nearly as aged as he himself was, had experience. She knew what to do, and he could trust her with it. Still, it never hurt to know what was happening in his camp, thus his routine early awakening.
Bounding down the rocky incline that led to his outcropping, he seemed a wolf moons younger as he found himself at the bottom, surveying the cave with a calculating gaze. He could smell the tantalizing mix of scents rising from the nearby prey pile; spring had treated them well so far and their hunters were proving themselves time and time again to be more than competent. There was no need to worry about that stock just yet. Briefly he considered wandering over, tongue swiping around a graying muzzle and lolling out between jagged fangs. There's more than enough, and if there isn't...well, Sacredwood won't miss a few beavers. Came the snide voice of experience in his head, something he casually dismissed. It was true; those wolves couldn't find their own tail if it wasn't attached to their rumps. Honestly, they couldn't do anything without their sacred ancestors instructing them at the beginning of each day how to breathe. They had no need for all that prey. Still, there was more than enough to go around, and it was only suitable that he allow the hungriest muzzles have the first bite. That, and he simply couldn't be bothered to think about what kind of conflict there would be if Sacredwood patrols caught them sneaking over the scent line. I have better things to do than argue with a bunch of coyote hearts.
So, instead, the Alpha just lowered his bulk to the ground, ears still pricked for the faint sounds that would signal the Pack's waking to the dawn.
She greeted the morning as she greeted most days. Tired, irritated, and already ready for it to be over and done with. The Beta raised her narrow face from where it had been draped over her paws, turning to face the mouth of the den. Around her, she could hear the sounds of her packmates still slumbering, or a few rising to greet the morning as she did. Those early risers would be part of the patrol, she reasoned, rubbing her muzzle with a paw. Slowly, Dianthus raised her body, shaking herself quickly. Much to the groaning and huffing of her packmates, who she merely scoffed at good naturedly. She stretched, rocking her body on its thin limbs.
The Sanctuary greeted her with quiet, a pervasiveness over the area she found herself in. She took a deep breath of the morning air as she exited the den. Spring chill filled the air, mild, but still enough to cause her displeasure. The Sanctuary was only quiet this time of morning, soon she knew this place would be abuzz with sound, and she would have to corral the population into somehow listening to her. “I dont know how you did it Gladiolus.” She said softly, closing her eyes. She stepped away from the den, still mulling over the possibility of patrols. Who could she send, where should she send them. Which borders would need her to protect them, what eager greenhorns would require what training. It wasn't overwhelming, just wholly and completely unpleasant for her. She frowned, swatting at her own ears for a moment to try and think. Maybe...maybe Rush was about. Or Heron. The Alpha was someone who she could converse with, the Corvidae too. Dianthus stopped for a moment, before her orange eyes found the shape of the pack's leader.
“Rising with the sun after all this time. It is nice to see you Rush.” She said as she drew to a stop beside the aged leader, looking over at him. And it was a feat she admired. Rush was growing old, even older than she thought she would retire at, and he showed no signs of stopping or slowing down. He was a tenacious old fellow, and Dianthus thought he had been a brilliant leader this whole time. She kept her eyes ahead though. No need in looking without prompting. That would be rude.
He could hear voices around him, different tones ringing out as each greeted the dawn in their own fashion. The pups tumbled out of their shared den, tripping over their paws as they attempted to scamper to freedom away from the suffocating care of some of the Denmothers. Still, they weren't alone; Boneweavers, their limbs creaking with age and worn ears torn from countless battles swiveling, followed out after their young charges, some sneezing in the dust kicked up by little paws. Others across the cave were stirring as well; the Guardian and Greenhorn den was perhaps the most active, their warriors trickling out like water drops off leaves onto the forest floor after a downpour. A mix of colors, the unique rainbow that made up Riverbloom's fighting soul and heartbeat, ready to face whatever dangers and adventures the day would bring.
He idly turned his head back towards the Corvidae's den, with all its secrets and mysteries. He could smell Heron; no sight of the young wolf, but the scent of herbs mixed with the male's fur was enough for him to smell from here. For a moment he debated padding that way, making sure their Corvidae didn't need the help of a young Greenhorn. He wouldn't need to choose one for many moons, that much was certain. He was still young and strong, and hadn't brought the matter to Rush's attention. Granted, the matter might be far beyond his own understanding; he was used to the fights and battles that picked the Alpha and Beta, the long and arduous journey of proving your worth. But the Corvidae...that was a different matter entirely. That was putting trust in the stars, in the ancestors who walked above. That was something he, with all his experience, could not begin to see sense in.
Not that he had long to dwell on those mysteries as a familiar scent drew his attention back towards his pack. A glance over to his side, he tensing out of instinct for a brief moment before relaxing. Dianthus. No need to worry. Dipping his head in acknowledgement of her words, Rush replied in a gruff tone scratchy with sleep, "It wouldn't do to stop now. If the pack wakes at dawn, so shall I. It's a good habit to have." Though after a moment he twisted an ear back towards her, head tilting to look over his Beta. From what he could tell, she seemed settled and well after the night. Good. "It is good to see you too. I trust the patrols are ready?" He didn't need to ask; she knew her role and she did it impeccability well. Still, it never hurt to check, and the daily business needed conducting before too long. Riverbloom, as always, came first.
