We are a fantasy wolf roleplay centered around three warring Kingdoms and the wolves that call them home. The wolf's ancestors; the Kingdom of Stars, are directly linked to the living wolves. They give Alphas the strength to lead for moons past what would have been their prime, and the Corvidae the ability to heal their fellow packmates through prayer. We are semi-literate, only requiring 150 words per post at a minimum! Please check out our Laws of the Land board for more information, and join us on DISCORD to get to know us better!
3.25.2019 UPDATE HERE! It's officially been a week since opening! We have added a Pup Prediction System, a Fighting System, as well as a huge update to our Shop! Congratulations to Rosa on Global Moderator, and Tali on Pup Predictor!
3.17.2019 A Falling Star has officially open! We are now accepting applications for all higher ranks, as well as applications for staff! Thank you for joining us!
3.15.2019 - The flowers are blooming, and the prey is running plentiful. Afternoon showers are a frequent occurance across the land, and many newborns are being welcomed into the world after a particularly harsh winter. Major storms seem to be holding back until the Summer, yet the river still runs swiftly.

3.22.2019 - The Corvidae for the Kingdom of Astralridge passed away without a Greenhorn to take his place. How will they cope?
Mid morning and a soft haze hung heavy in the forest. The birds and the beasts flitting about more busy than the bees to strengthen their newborns, the lucky few from winter working even harder to strengthen their frost-born progeny. The trees hung heavy with green, the light signs of a coming shower approaching slowly via scent and the lack of insects. Yet the fresh smell of rain did nothing to deter the shadow looming underneath the forest nor the winged one following close on his trail. He held a single-minded determination, more of a severe need to finish this duty before he found himself miserable alongside his already increasing tiredness.
Spring brought along many a happy occasion. The birth of pups, the healthy raising of said pups, enough prey to feed the kingdom without much hassle from their rivals which meant less border skirmishes for him to clean up after... but it also brought along with it its usual sides of downfalls. Namely- illness. Though not so heavy as a pandemic, Ibis had already seen several seasons of wolves who'd over-indulged, a few of the more unlucky ones testing out their luck with some youthful thinking of some kind. He didn't quite understand the whole 'I dare you' game, truth be told. Though it was probably better that way seeing as how many adolescents often found their way to his den, the even more unfortunate having to wait for him to reach them. But they weren't the problem, not yet anyhow. With spring fresh in its season, he had to only suffer the constant requests, complaints, and whinings of those who suffered from the most mild but common of sicknesses. Stomach aches.
With the season still too fresh to sprout aloe vera, it left Ibis with his nose to the ground away from the safety of the river. His quarry lying hidden within the thickets, lush and thick with the scent of hungry critters and bruised vegetation... combined with the blooming scents of berries newly produced. Juniper berries, his stock of them had drop down by an alarming rate with the influx of mothers and over-eager pups. Spring fever had yet to take any which left him with a very busy schedule. Not that he was complaining, mind you; the seasons they could go without losing a single pup were always a gift from the stars themselves. Blessed litters meant to grow strong for their Kingdom under the watchful gaze of their ancestors.
Which was why he was so deadset on scrounging through each bush no matter how much they scratched his nose. Why he refused help without having a Greenhorn of his own to teach. This was a test to him, he felt; by the stars and doubly so by the Raven who preened herself overhead.
"You should wait another moon, dear Ibis; you won't win against the vermin trying to fatten their bellies." The black bird crowed from her place on a low branch, dark eyes gleaming at him as she finished cleaning her flight feathers.
Ibis only needed to break his head free of what was the sixth bush now to catch her gaze. Her stare, something that was once unsettling; was now something he held as naturally as he found it to speak with her. "There's no time to wait, y'know; not unless you know some secret stash somewhere?" There was a small bubble of hope hidden under his words. Bad move. It was crushed immediately when the Raven didn't bother to hide her huff.
"Surely you jest?" Firefly cawed indignantly, "I gave you my advice and you think it was not the wisest? Are you suggesting I did not think of your pitiful wishes beforehand?" The gleam in her eyes was a dangerous sight for his ears. Her fluffing feathers indicated her moodswings at their finest, the small rush of wingbeats and Ibis knew he'd have to answer smart if he had to answer at all. Which he did- the stiff foot sinking its talons into his head did not allow for silence.
It took sheer willpower to not shake his head, his whole body; of her irritated self. Maybe she realized that but even so she pressed on, leaning over his head to peer into his eyes with those beady ones of her own. Daring him to say something wrong with that sharp beak so close. Thinking quickly, Ibis tried to smooth out an answer that would leave him without bruised eyelids or molested ears. "'Course not, I couldn't dream of being able to see through your eyes let alone your mind." Not quite as deftly put as he'd have liked but it was the best he could do without following through with a far easier amount of sass. If she found it offensive, she didn't act on it. A merciful mood perhaps or maybe the distant sound of thunder was enough to distract her- either way, the stars alone knew what saved him from her wrath. She gave the bird equivalent of a snort before hopping to sit on his back as she was opt to do when the weather began to turn foul.
"So be it, foolish one; just get your meandering over with before the storms hit. I can fly above the clouds, you cannot." He could hear her silent accusation after her huffy chirping. 'You should have brought a helper'- the way she clawed into his back told him that. Another quiet rumble. How long did he have? Not long enough- especially with no fruits at the end of his labor. He'd need to hurry and quickly, before the rain brought the cold, damp, and the washing of scents.
The lightly colored she-wolf had been up since before dawn with her newly acquired friend (although she used the term loosely), Snapdragon, hunting near the rivers that twined their way through the trees of their land. Unfortunately, the hunt hadn't gone so well. What was supposed to be two decently sized fish and a beaver, ended up just being two decently sized fish. Vervain thought that they should sneak up on the beaver, and attack it while it was on land. Snapdragon got it into her thick skull that they should instead attack it from the water's edge, right before it took off into the water. After bickering for what seemed like ages, they turned back to the beaver, and before either one of them could rush after it, it disappeared into the water without another trace.
So, for what felt like several hours of work but was most likely only one, they each only had a fish to show for it. Some hunting patrol this turned out to be. Vervain shook her head in aggravation, talking through the fish between her teeth "We would've hash ish if we hash done ish my way" she growled at the other female, tossing her head with a sigh and a slight laugh. She playfully bumped her shoulder against the other wolf before trotting on ahead. For what it was worth, it was kind of fun getting a chance to play in the water for a bit, first thing in the morning, and it wasn't like they didn't have anything to show for their efforts.
The trees broke slightly along the riverside, and she caught the scent of a familiar friend even over the scent of the fish clutched in her jaws. She wagged her tail and motioned for Snapdragon to follow her, leaping the small river in one swift bound and landing gracefully on the other side, trotting up to the black pelted Corvidae and his raven companion. She set the fish down on the ground at her paws, calling out "Good morning, Ibis! Do you enjoy getting your muzzle full of thorns and nettle or are you looking for something?" she laughed, eyes smiling at the wolf.
It had been an early start for a certain dark she-wolf, having followed the wishes of her never-tiring denmate rather than her own desires, to her slight regret now. When she had been out late the night before, stalking the border that prickled with metaphorical thistles of hostility, she'd expected to come home to their secluded ravine and curl up in her nest, tucked away from the ever-staring eyes of the Kingdom of Stars. It would've been a blissful slumber lost in dreams filled with juicy prey and runs through the scent-rich forests if she'd had her way. An early rising, of course; her nose for danger and paws full of energy even as a Guardian wouldn't allow her to lose herself in the pawsteps of dreampaths for too long. But surely the sun would be awake to greet her when she did rise, yes?
Of course, with her newfound friendship, that didn't seem to be the case anymore. Something she'd been learning when a sharp paw to her ribcage had jolted her into consciousness and padding sleepily after the much too eager Vervain, ignoring her grumbling belly all the way. Sure enough the sun had yet to ready itself for its daily climb, leaving her to follow scent and the dim light that lit them by the soft hues of blue and pink that hailed a coming dawn.
Yet despite their valiant efforts to serve their Kingdom and deliver breakfast to the many hungry Denmothers and pups that populated their camp, their tasks had been done in vain; a too-familiar argument had sidetracked the hunt, leaving their prospects to dive for cover in the river they could not hope to traverse quite as well as the prey. Instead they were stuck with scales between their teeth, meager catch clutched in their jaws as they turned back towards camp. Still, Snapdragon couldn't bring herself to be too upset; they'd had a grand time splashing around in the swiftly running water, shattering the early morning light across the surface into dozens of tiny shards with their paws. The light had scattered into the air as easily as their laughter had, echoing up and down the riverbank. It probably chased away more prey but that didn't matter. They had their catch, and it was better than nothing.
There would be more distractions before their paws found the familiar path home, however. The prickling in her pelt signaled the coming of the rolling spring storm far above their heads. Tilting her head up to look for the telltale scent of rain that would hopefully fill their lowered water sources and feed their winter-cracked Earth, she was soon distracted by words that drew a snort from her in response. Your way wash too shlow. It would've heard ush!" She rumbled back, eyes brightening even more than they had when the first smells of the wild weather had drifted across her muzzle. Still, she couldn't help the muffled laugh at the nudge, comically staggering sideways on her paws away from the other she-wolf. "Not fair!" Came the call before she dutifully followed along behind, tail waving like a banner for them both. Even past the stench of fish, she'd caught the same scent and, while not quite as familiar, was more than happy to see what brought their Corvidae out this far.
Catching the signal with the ease that came from many moons of training, Snapdragon gave her head a short nod before picking up speed, muscles bunching beneath her to propel the wolf into the air in an arch across the water. For a few moments she fancied she was flying like one of the stars-blessed ravens; she could almost imagine the wings, dark feathered like her fur, sprouting from her shoulders and lifting her higher. But soon enough her paws found land again and she was approaching the pair with another muffled laugh.
Releasing her fish beside Vervain's, the Guardian swiped a long pink tongue around her muzzle before adding, "Just because I stick my nose into everything without reason doesn't mean everyone does. You've told me that more than once. I'm sure Ibis has his reasons."
The rush was on. With his head shoved back into his current bush, nosing aside thorny branches while he tried to shove down the thicker branches with his paws- it was starting to get a little bit sad. Not quite so far gone to be desperate but the stinging on the soft of his nose and what few cuts were made to his muzzle, not to mention the thorns that tried to cling to the delicate areas between his paw pads; were going to be very unpleasant later. Some stung, others were just viciously itchy when he'd yanked his head free again- the third attempt aiming for the lower crevices in some final dash of hope. Of course, just like Firefly's lack of help; it was a disappointing find. Completely barren with only the flowers and buds revealed- no signs of freshly sprouting fruits yet. He huff a sigh of frustration louder than he'd meant, drawing the Raven's attention from his back.
"Did I not tell you so? I did. Now let's go-" The Raven visibly fluffed when the sound of rushing paws came bounding toward them. Well, sound in his case- she probably saw them before he was alerted really. Her body had stiffened before he had his head clear after all. He might've grown worried if she'd started crying out an alarm but given that she was making sure he could feel her talons through the remains of shedding winter coat, he didn't think to worry. She only acted that way toward very specific events... unfortunately it was a daily basis given his standing in the Kingdom along with his own wide social circle.
Their voices rung out before he had been ready to look toward them, the male busy with shaking his head free of thorns and snagging twigs. Instantly he recognized the first, the second took him a moment to place. Giving an hefty snort, mostly to clear his nose of his efforts; Ibis lolled his tongue out at the girls in an intended goofy pose. "Must you encourage them so?" Firefly's grumbles were ignored.
"My dear Vervain! What a pleasure- and you too Snapdragon. Two of my favorite Guardians coming back from a hunt?" It was a rhetorical question, he could see the fish; so he continued without missing a beat. "As much as I love to feel alive unlike the rest of our youngsters, I'm afraid being stabbed in the face is not one of my highest priorities. Tree-climbing and bird-watching fill those just fine-" That earned him a jab in the shoulders, Firefly's piercing gaze never leaving the females. Too bad too, she might've seen him wince before he disturbed her with a light shake. A wordless caw of indignation and the raven was back to her hostile staring.
Clearing his throat, not really hiding his disappointment in failing to distract his winged partner; he continued again. "I'm searching for Juniper berries, if you really want to know. You wouldn't have happened to spot any on your patrol have you? Small, blue- the leaves look like spines?" He gave an innocent tilt of head, regretting it instantly when the cold bit at a particularly deep cut over one nostril.
Vervain tossed her head in the direction of Snapdragon, a scoff exhaling from her muzzle. She had - on more than one occasion - had to enlighten the other she-wolf that she was in fact not the center of the universe or the only one things happened to. In all fairness, she enjoyed it. The way the she-wolf got wrapped up into things sometimes was quite... adorable.
"Yup! Decided to get our day started early with a lovely splash in the water, and the Kingdom of Stars blessed us with two fish to show for it," she responded back, gesturing with a paw to the two fish on the ground and a smile at Snapdragon before turning back to Ibis. On the plus side, the two fish were rather sizable. The salmon were slowly beginning to run through the rivers that they called home, and luckily the bears had not quite made a fuss over having access to all of the wonderful rivers that wound through their territory.
She couldn't help but laugh as Firefly dug her sharp talons into Ibis' head at the mention of bird watching and tree climbing, her tongue lolling out - she knew all too well what the Raven was capable of - having been on the wrong end of that well-honed beak on more than one occasion. Though, at the mention of berries that were blue, she tilted her head in thought, pondering for a moment. Turning to Snapdragon, she gestured with her paw as she spoke. "Now that you mention it, there may have been some by part of the river we were hunting near. I remember having to avoid the prickly leaves and thorns as we crossed into the clearing before the river's edge - right Snapdragon? Or were those red? I don't remember," she huffed.
The scoff, off-pawed in it's delivery and meaning, had Snapdragon rolling her eyes playfully before Ibis stole her attention again. The words drew a grin from the she-wolf after a moment, followed only by a familiar, warm laugh. The pose hadn't passed her by; after all, most would find it unexpected. Corvidae were supposed to be serious fellows, connected to the stars above and within themselves and achieve some sort of inner peace or...something. She herself had never quite understood it, nor why everyone who claimed to be a Corividae had to be so bitter about the fact, so that Ibis felt comfortable enough to joke around in his position was a welcome one indeed. Now whether she'd let Vervain here her thoughts on that was a different story. She could be so bossy when it came to the Kingdom of Stars. Not that she minded, of course. There was something endearing about her friend's exasperation as the darker she-wolf would ask for the upteenth time about them. But that would be a later discussion.
For now she just let her tail wag in that carefree sort of manner one would expect from a new Greenhorn, eyes bright as she listened to the conversation swap back and forth. Casual tales of prey hunting, successful at any rate despite their blunders, and another sort as well. Though maybe not all were pleased with this turn of events, as she watched his raven companion, obviously not thrilled with them for some reason, sail off with open amusement. Perhaps there was a schedule of the sun they could not know about, or she simply did not enjoy the rain. Less fun for her, Snapdragon supposed. "Good to see you too, Ibis."
Tempted to share the tale about how they would've had a beaver too if Vervain had just listened to her, she was instead distracted by the next set of words. Curious. Craning her head slightly to the side as she found the other she-wolf's gaze on her once more, she herself seemed thoughtful just for a moment. Maw closing as she considered their path in her head, following along invisible pawsteps, she soon found what she was looking for with a quiet, pleased huff. "There were. Think we nearly ran into them while argu-....er....discussing tactics for fishing." Snapdragon managed, only stumbling over her words just a tiny bit. Still, she didn't seem bothered; most of the Pack had seen the way they interacted and, with Vervain's friendship with Ibis, he certainly knew more than the rest. There was no need for worry. "They were blue. Remember? Hard to see in some of the shadows. They didn't stand out." Not like red would, anyway. But, tearing her gaze from Vervain, she looked back to Ibis and raised a paw questioningly, ready to turn on the spot should he agree. "We'd be happy to show you!" What was a little delay, especially if they were helping with such an important task as this?
It would have taken effort to hide his snickering, which he most certainly did not; seeing the females banter away like pups or overzealous youngsters. Or at least, that was how Ibis would have described them- the joys of knowing at least one of them more closely than some others. It was endearing, even if Firefly made it her point to grunt at the girls' words like they were less than flies buzzing about. Nothing new there and so it was easily ignored (much to her evident, much more obvious irritation). Snapdragon's returned greeting earned a tail wag, a genuine chuckle escaped from the male though when the rhetoric was lost on Vervain; the female happily announcing their good fortune of the day. "A plentiful luck indeed!"
"Hmph- to be so proud of a meager catch like that is pitiful. Do not encourage their-"
She was duly ignored. Well, mostly ignored. He had the 'gall' to disrupt his Raven companion with a rough shake, earning her accusing and wordless screech, a swift peck to his torso, and an extra set pair of talons digging into his neck. Was it sad that he was so used to this that her physical berating felt like nothing anymore? Probably. It worked though, he wasn't going to deny that nor was he going to stop the cocky grin he gave the feathered messenger. She glared at him in full, opting to peck his ear before turning her attention back to the females. If they were wise (or just plain used to this by now) they would have continued on like nothing was happening. Ibis did. His tail was wagging more widely when he waited for their words, a boyish grin on his face the moment they might have held an answer to his dilemma.
Again he chuckled, this time at Snapdragon's poor attempt at 'correcting' herself. He found it rather endearing, their interactions; from both experience, tales told by Vervain, and simple rumor. Oh how good it was to be the Corvidae when it came to rumor and story-telling. He always found himself with a front-row seat with those. So normal in fact, that it took him literally little to no focus to perk his ears on the descriptions he was hearing. Stars above! Salvation may be near! His grin widened with his tail's swipes before Firefly could dampen it all. "Truly? Praise to the Stars there may be hope for my poor nose yet!" He barked out a laugh, "My dear frisky kin, lead on! Lead on!" Again he ignored Firefly's less than enthusiastic grunting, the Raven prying herself free from his fur to take off toward the trees.
Though not before giving poor Snapdragon a full buffeting of her wings and an ungrateful caw that she no doubt forgot no one else would understand. "You'd best be remembering this right, simple hunter! Do not waste our time!" and she was off to a low branch, still glaring down at them as she usually did. Ibis had the wisdom not to 'poke the bear' as it were, acting as if absolutely nothing had just happened from his winged companion. "Lead away!" He urged, all the wiser.
A lot of things went right over Vervain's head - being too focused on what was directly in front of her to notice the subtle things that weaved their way into the words and actions of those around her. Some might call her a bit dense - but as far as she was concerned, she considered herself practical. Her yellow-green orbs lingered on the darker she-wolf beside her as she listened to her explain how this morning had gone from her own point of view.
At the mention of their argument, a dopey smile rose to her muzzle, though she didn't laugh - no. It was too endearing to watch her fumble over her words explaining their interactions to other wolves. When Snapdragon's gaze finally made its way back over to her at the mention of the berries, she perked her ears and let her tail wag slowly - it may have been a bit obvious that she had been staring.
"Y-yyyeess, they were blue! I remember now," she confirmed, nodding to the Corvidae and letting her tongue loll out happily. Her eyes flickered up to the raven that perched on his back as it ruffled his fur and the Corvidae, in turn, dislodged Firefly from his perch. She raised her brows and stifled a laugh, that turned into out-right laughter as Firefly flew into Snapdragon's face and fluttered about, making a big huff about something.
She was always making a big huff about something.
Shaking her head softly, the cream and grey colored wolf stepped forward before turning toward the fish she had placed on the ground. "This way, Ibis - it's not too much further down the river!" she yipped happily, picking up the fish in her jaws delicately. With a short running start, she rushed at the river's edge, bunching her muscles at just the last moment and sending herself sailing across the river with ease. Gracefully, she landed on the other side, a small cloud of dust at her heels as she waited for the other two to cross. Her eyes shifted upward toward the sky - it's dark clouds threatening to break at any moment - they needed to hurry. As soon as the other two crossed, she would lead the way toward their original hunting spot with a quickened pace, knowing full well the other two could keep up.
Though there was more that she could say on their trek, from the way that Vervain had flounced on ahead with tail high like a banner to how she'd prodded her away at a time where even the earth hadn't started to take up, Snapdragon would be the first to admit that perhaps they needed to get started on their venture. After all, they needed to find the berries before seeking shelter from the rain.
Glancing up again at the sky, she went to answer her friend and Ibis before her vision was suddenly obscured by black feathers. Yipping in a bit of surprise, the Guardian pulled her ears back and shook her head, trying to rid herself of the attacker. What had that been about?
...Though, then again, considering who the raven was, that was a question whose answer would always be a mystery to all who could not understand her. Still, just snickering herself in perhaps a bad example of how one should act when admonished by the Corivdae's constant companion, she looked to her pack mates with a smile. "Yes, exactly! Blue! And if we hurry, we'll get there before the storm!" came her happy bark of a reply. At least she hoped they would. The clouds still crept across the horizon towards them yet no rumbles shook the sky. Perhaps they'd have the Kingdom of the Star's luck and blessings on their side and not find themselves drenched for their efforts.
With a last smile towards Ibis and a too long look at Vervain as she retreated, the she-wolf stooped to retrieve her scaly prey before trotting after her friend. They were an odd group, perhaps; Guardians laden with fish and a Corvidae with a raven companion sailing overhead and a scratched nose to show for his efforts. Still, they were doing good, and that was all that mattered. Well that, and getting home to explain their prey before their Beta came looking for a reason to snatch at their tails.
Finding herself picking up speed as she readied for the jump, she felt her paws leave the ground as she flew into a familiar arch. Over the water with riverbank to spare, she landed in a skid that couldn't be more opposite than Vervain's soft landing. Oh well. She got across anyway, right? "How far ish it again?" She asked, forgetting for a moment that the fish in her jaw made speech a difficult, if not impossible, endeavor. "We can't take too long. Ibish won't mind, but she might." With that she inclined her head to the bird above, trying not to be too obvious about her actions.
